Maria Alquilar Bronze Sculpture Pandora Mask

Her works explore most of humanities need to create heroes, saints, and other divinities. Alquilar enhances the mysteries and myths of major religions of the worlds including Voodoo, Catholicism, Asian as well as pre Catholic Mexican and Southwest indigenous peoples' spiritual rituals.

Alquilar was born in Brooklyn, NY. She is in many collections in the United States, Mexico, and Italy. Collections include the Smithsonian, National Museum of American Art, The Rockefeller Collection, and many more.
