 Painting Of An Indigenous
Group tags:

A large and powerful original portrait painting of a Brazilian Indian in native dress, by an indigenous indian artist of the same tribe. The portrait is a striking and strong statement of the personality of this subject, captured by the artist in the unblinking stare of the subject's sky-blue eyes, which seem to pierce the viewer's very being with their intensity. The painted face and wild hair, along with the bright blue eyes and exciting intensity of the color palette employed, make this portrait a rare and highly interesting work of art.

The collector from whom this painting was purchased acquired it from the original artist on an exploratory trip to the countryside outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was done in the last quarter of the 20th century. Dimensions are over 4 feet in height by 3 feet in width by 1.5 inches in depth, a rather large painting.
The painting is unframed, with the canvas on a strong wood stretcher.
The condition is excellent.
